these are just a few pics from last friday...a bunch of the girls in the program went to a pool at Hotel Mande because exams were over (even though we had a full day of presentations today)...it was cool...a LOT of malian teenagers...and there was a fashion show there the next day so we watched the models practice...interesting...the water behind us is the River Niger...the hotel is right on the water...pretty...oh and we felt really cool in our one piece swimsuits that the program told us to bring (it said they had to be conservative)...all the malian girls there were in tiny little bikinis, and the guys were in little boxers (malian men often swin in boxers, sometimes two pairs at once...so we looked a little ridiculous in our sporty one pieces and speedos...like the american swim team or something...oh well..didn't come to mali to be a fashion icon...
